A note from the founders

Studying should help things click.

We built ExamCat because we wanted students to spend less time piecing together study tools and more time actually understanding what they’re learning.

A flashcard app here. A notes app there. A video in another tab. An AI chat that needs your entire course explained again. Studying had started to feel like managing a stack of apps, and too many of those tools felt stuck in the past.

More than memorizing the answer.

For us, tools like Quizlet were a useful starting point for flashcards in middle school. But as the topics got more complex, flipping a card wasn’t enough. We wanted to ask why an answer worked, see how ideas connected, and get an explanation that met us at our level.

That’s the idea behind Junko, our AI study companion: a tutor that can work with the material you’re studying, your goals and your grade or level. Someone to help you untangle a difficult concept, practice it, and figure out what to tackle next.

Your study tools, together.

We built unlimited flashcards and practice quizzes so you can keep testing your understanding. Turn a YouTube lecture into flashcards, quizzes and lecture notes. Record a lecture and turn it into study material. Bring your own notes and make them into a podcast you can listen to on the go.

We built 3D study diagrams because some ideas make more sense when you can see how their parts relate. And we brought these ways of learning into one place, so moving from “I’ve read this” to “I understand this” feels simpler.

Better technology. More human learning.

Our mission is to help students learn smarter and give them a better shot at improving their grades. We want to bring the latest advances in AI and learning tools into everyday studying—not make students figure out the technology themselves.

That means building around real study needs, listening to students, and continuing to improve. AI won’t replace your effort or your teachers. But we believe a thoughtful companion, the right tools and a little encouragement can make that effort go further.

That’s what we’re building with ExamCat. A place for your notes, your questions, your next breakthrough—and a cat to keep you company.
